Pitt Collaborates With Kiehls In Eco Friendly Product
Brad Pitt is taking Eco-friendly measures, from head to toe. His deal with skin care natural products manufacturing company Kiehl’s is one step toward this goal. The movie star is collaborating with Kiehl’s to raise money for ecological issues. He is teaming up with the company on its new Aloe Vera Biodegradable Liquid Body Cleanser.
Kiehl’s is one of the oldest American companies. It was created in 1851, has stores worldwide, and is owned by L’Oreal cosmetic groups.
Aloe Vera Biodegradable Liquid Body Cleanser, its new product, will be in stores in October and will be friendly to your wallet. The cleanser is packaged in recyclable plastic and consists of all-natural ingredients such as aloe vera, coconut-derived cleansers and glycerin. The body-care product will be available online, at Kiehl’s counters, in department stores and in the company’s freestanding boutiques.
This is Kiehl’s first all-around eco-friendly, corresponding 100 percent with Cradle to Cradle standards. This is surely the reason why Pitt decided to do this collaboration, it’s a great environmental campaign tool.
All profit made from the body cleanser will go to JPF Eco Systems. This is a charitable foundation created by Pitt and Kiehl’s to support global ecological initiatives, to “minimize impact on the environment through thoughtful design,” as Yahoo News reports.
But the most interesting detail is that, Pitt won’t use his well-known face to promote the product, neither his name will appear on the bottle. The only trace he will leave on the bottle is the reproduction of his handwriting. “Brad is not a face, he’s a partner,” Roberta Weiss, Kiehl’s senior VP of global marketing, told WWD.com. “We shared a vision, to support this new way of thinking being more eco-intelligent.”
The first beneficiary will be Pitt’s own Make It Right organization, which he started last year to fund rebuilding projects in New Orleans. Pitt and Kiehl’s expect to raise over $1 million of foundation profits.
Here’s hoping that Pitt is as successful in this endeavor as he has been in the box office. His Eco-friendly fans and our planet will thank him immensely for it.
